Throughout her career, Edna Wells Handy has been committed to promoting equity and inclusion. She has held prominent positions in both government and nonprofit organizations that allowed her to extend this passion toward a broad range of civil and social justice initiatives. As the first Chief Compliance Officer of a city housing authority facing organizational and financial difficulties, her work was pivotal in launching Legal Skills Center in the private sector, where it became an S-Corporation in 2019. Legal Skills Center secured its first consulting contract as part of the federal monitor team established to support the transformation of this distressed housing authority.
